Thimpu Airport- Bhutan

Thimpu Airport
Bhutan

It is tucked in between the Himalayan Mountain Range and there is no easy entrance tot h runway.  So the pilots have to hover around the airport and descend in a whirl until the speed is such that the pilot can handle a quick, short drop down.  I probably would not have thought anything about it but someone brought this fact to my attention about a week prior to my departure.  There are youtube videos that show how dangerous this feat is.  So I watched in fear and admiration.

The Benefits of Solo Traveling

Traveling solo as an older woman is an empowering experience that offers unparalleled freedom and personal growth. The beauty of solo travel lies in the absolute autonomy it provides. It allows me to embrace my own rhythm, making decisions on a whim without the need to compromise or wait for consensus. For many, the golden years are a time of reflection and exploration, and what better way to explore than by setting out on a journey alone? Solo travel means moving at my pace, without the pressure of keeping up with others or catering to their preferences. It’s about indulging in activities that bring joy, whether that’s lingering in a museum, taking a leisurely stroll through a park, or sitting in a café watching the world go by. Moreover, solo travel can be less exhausting. There’s no need to keep up appearances or engage in constant conversation. It’s a time for inner dialogue, for connecting with my thoughts and feelings in a way that’s often not possible in the company of others.
